Hello, I’m Miss Brown and I have been a teacher and KS2 Music Coordinator here at Gladstone Road since 2001.
One of my favourite things about teaching is spending time with my class, and getting to know all of the children as individuals with their unique personalities and contributions to school and classroom life. The subjects I most enjoy teaching are DT, maths and music, and my favourite subjects to learn about are history and geography.
I also love being part of our school orchestra and seeing those children who take up musical instruments in year 3/4 become proficient enough to play their first notes at orchestra rehearsals, pass their music exams and even perform their first solos in a school assembly or concert.
The best part of teaching at Gladstone Road though is taking the children out and about on the various trips and visits we provide: these experiences are always memorable with never a dull moment!
Hello, I’m Mrs Kenyon-Taylor and I am a Year 4 teacher here at Gladstone Road Primary
school. I have been a teacher for 20 years and have been teaching here for the past 5 years. In
our school I have taught in all year groups from Year 3 to Year 6 and have got to know lots of
children. I really like it when children come for a chat and tell me all the things they’ve been
doing both in and out of school. I like teaching all subjects but the ones I most enjoy are science
and design technology, although I think my daughters get a bit fed up of me relaying my
scientific knowledge to them!
When I’m not in school I really like spending time with my family, my two daughters keep me
very busy! We love building dens in the woods and fossil hunting on nearby beaches. I also
enjoy going for long walks (my children don’t), going to Zumba classes and reading. I love
animals, particularly cats, and I’ve recently got a kitten to join my two other cats. They like
joining in with what I’m doing, one loves trying to tap the keys when I’m typing on the laptop!
So that’s a little bit about me!
